What is Hypnosis? And what is the difference between Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy?

 

Hypnosis is a natural state of very focused awareness where the body is usually quite relaxed, and the mind is open to suggestions. It is a trance state, and believe it or not, we go in and out of this state on a daily basis. The two most common times we do this are upon awakening and right before drifting off to sleep, but there are other times as well. Some of these include becoming so absorbed in a movie or book that emotions arise or even driving your usual route to work or home and not recalling the actual drive itself. In a trance state, time is lost. 

 

The word hypnosis refers to the inducing of a passive state of mind, or trance, that promotes better communication between the conscious and the subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy is the psychological healing process that uses hypnosis to achieve a desired result.

WHAT DO HYPNOSIS SESSIONS LOOK LIKE?:

  • Your First session will be a long one while we get to know each other and then create a custom recording together, which I will then record and send to you. This is known as Hypnotic Programming. We also teach you some tools and techniques to help you in between sessions and do a general clearing trance.

  • Most Second sessions (and sometimes more sessions) involve Parts Therapy, meaning we will be getting you relaxed in hypnosis, and then calling out different parts of your subconscious mind (usually the one that is troub ling you first). We all have parts. They are all inherently good, and thus, we will NOT be getting rid of them, but rather gaining some understanding and possibly negotiating new jobs for our parts to partake in.

  • Additional sessions may include Regression to Cause (childhood regression) to get to the root cause beneath any symptoms, emotions, and beliefs so that we can help you to heal any memories and live the life you want and deserve to.

  • Breathwork; either Hypnotic or NeuroDynamic™, is a method we use to help clear away any other blockages. Some folks do multiple breathwork sessions as they are always different. Still others prefer breathwork to regression, and some folks actually start with breathwork!

  • We also specialize in Past Life Regressions if that is something you are interested in or if  it feels like a karmic issue.

  • I often like to finish with a final full NLP session once you are having those amazing results to help you anchor into them and be able to bring them out on your own whenever you like! It's important to know that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis; I can't make you do or say anything you don't want to. You could even lie in hypnosis if you wanted to! Hypnotherapy works because we are getting the subconscious mind on board with what your conscious mind wants. Basically anything you can make worse simply by thinking or obsessing about is something hypnosis can most likely assist you with in transforming! Hypnotherapy is highly effective and for the most part, any one issue is something we USUALLY only see you for 4 to 6 sessions. This is, of course, an average and requires you to do your work at home as well, and understand that you are still processing and growing up to weeks or more after your sessions!
